Here are my photos of National and California State Parks, the outdoors, and Cruise pictures. Page 2 has flowers, animals, ships, other trips, and all sort of other photos.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did when I was taking them. Obviously there are some things I am better at photographing - the great outdoors, flowers, ships.... Sadly I'm not so good at taking people pictures so there aren't as many of those. If you do enjoy any particular picture, you can leave a comment.
I decided to try to put a small set (only 100 photographs) of my favorite pictures together and write about why I like these particular pictures. Sometimes it will be because of the photgraphic elements, sometimes, it is for personal meanings/reasons. As of February 2007, it is under construction, but if you would like to check it out, here it is - My Favorite Photographs.

| June 7th, 2009 | Once Again several WWII airplanes came to Buchanan Airport for Memorial Day (technically that was a few days ago - they were in Livermore then), and they flew over our home. They were a B-19 Flying Fortress and B-24 Liberator (bombers) and a P-51 Mustang (fighter). I put them in the folder with all the other airplane pictures. |

| June 7th, 2009 | I wandered around our home the other day taking a few pictures of flowers. |

| June 7th, 2009 | We have had some weird weather lately - it's hot for a while, then cold almost like winter. On this day we had bright blue sky and sunshine on half of the sky and towering thunder clouds on the other half. I got some neat pictures of the clouds, a rainbow, and the moon, all while standing in the sun! |

| May 10th, 2009 | We just got back from a Mexican Riviere Cruise - it was the last Princess Cruise to actually go to the Mexican ports before the big Swine Flu warning came out. As always, it was a lot of fun with some neat sailing adventures. |

| April 4th, 2009 | It was a beautiful spring day, the wild flowers were out so we took a little drive to the top of Mt Diablo. The views were great - we could see San Francisco Bay and the City of San Francisco! |

| March 8th, 2009 | For my birthday, we spent some time in Yosemite National Park. We got the whole gamut of weather - rain, snow, clouds, and sunshine. We got to Yosemite in between storms - no chains required going there, but we got snow during our stay. Then it melted enough so we didn't have to put chains on to leave. Nice! We had all our rain and snow gear so every day we went out walking, all bundled up and snug as a bug in a rug (GRIN)! On one of our hikes we got to watch a coyote hunting in the snow for a while. I did two big hikes - one up the Upper Yosemite Falls trail where I had a terrific time hiking in the rain. The other was up to Nevada/Vernal Falls where it was a snowy trail. While watching the falls, it started to snow a lot - I couldn't even see the cliffs - so I headed back down. It was a beautiful hike. Once again, we had a wonderful time! |

| February 22nd, 2009 | A small exercise hike along the Canal Trail when the wildflowers were out. Another catch-up folder. |
|
| February 22nd, 2009 | These are Morning Doves and Ducks by our pool - it's a folder I've apparently missed loading before. |
|
| February 21st, 2009 | It was a sunny day, and we needed exercise, so we went for a hike in Mt Diablo State Park. It was incredibly warm for a January day! We got to watch a flock of wild turkeys for a while. |
|
| February 21st, 2009 | A storm front moved through with some heavy rain...but with the sun shining also. There was this great rainbow that moved along from one side of the hills, across the valley, to the other side of the hills! I put these with the other rainbow pictures I've taken. |

| February 21st, 2009 | The fog crept in on it's silent feet overnight, laying a white blanket over the city. Some of the taller buildings and then the trees stood up through the fog. it was quite amazing to watch it slowly lift. |
|
| February 21st, 2009 | I got two pictures of the moon over the city... kinda neat. I put them in my “Moon” folder with the other moon pictures. |
