Websailor's Picture Gallery

Here are my photos of National and California State Parks, the outdoors, and Cruise pictures. Pages 2 and 3 have flowers, animals, ships, other trips, and all sort of other photos.

I hope you enjoy these as much as I did when I was taking them. Obviously there are some things I am better at photographing - the great outdoors, flowers, ships.... Sadly I'm not so good at taking people pictures so there aren't as many of those. If you do enjoy any particular picture, you can leave a comment.

This page took a long time to load, so I left the Cruises and National & State Parks picture sets here, and moved everything else to a second and third page.
Click on the Stars and Stripes to sail on to the other stuff!!!                                            .

I decided to try to put a small set (only 100 photographs) of my favorite pictures together and write about why I like these particular pictures. Sometimes it will be because of the photgraphic elements, sometimes, it is for personal meanings/reasons. It is still under construction (and always will be), but if you would like to check it out, here it is - My Favorite Photographs.

California State Parks

The State Parks in California are beautiful too and there are so many of them relatively close by. It makes them easy to visit. Plus they have hot water for showers and hand washing!

Regional Parks

The East Bay Region in California has some wonderful parks, on a par with State Parks. Since they are local, they get a lot of use, including by us.

I created a different format for the Tahiti & Marquesas 2007 web page - it is sorted by island, so it is easier for some people.
The cruise lines are now putting web cams on their ships so you can see where they are. I built a page to show all the Princess Lines Cruiseship's web cams - Princess Ship Web Cams You might even catch a wedding in progress!!!

Concord CERT Graduation Class, May 2012 May 12th, 2012

Concord CERT graduated two new classes today so we served as guides on their final drill exercises. It was a good refresher for us, plus we got to pass on a bit of our knowledge, and it was neat to see how other people approached the drill scenarios.

The training everyone got today was excellent!

LifeFlight Helicopter At Loma Vista School, May 2012 May 11th, 2012

The REACH Air Medical helicopter just landed at the school near us. An ambulance zoomed down the street to where it landed. A patient was moved to the helicopter and off it went!

We found out later that a 5 year old girl stepped into the street and was hit by a truck that then sped away. How sad!

   Lake Tahoe, April 2012 April 29th, 2012

When we were up in Truckee for Cheryls Concert, we visited Lake Tahoe. As usual, it was gorgeous.

Truckee Railroad Stock, April 2012 April 28th, 2012

When we were up in Truckee (near Lake Tahoe), I saw some unique railroad pieces of rolling stock. I just had to stop and take some pictures. The rotary snow plow was unusual but somewhat common out here. But the wrecker was quite uncommon (at least nowadays). That was a real treat!

This link is a pretty neat video of a snow plow in operation.

Grey Fox on Roof, March 2012 March 22th, 2012

As I was leaving for work the other day, I glanced up to see a Grey Fox curled up in a nice cubbyhole on our roof. I can see why it picked that spot on the cold, windy, and almost raining night that we had last night. From our dining room window it was only a couple of feet away.

California Academy Of Sciences, March 2012 March 18th, 2012

On this rainy day, we took a little trip in to the California Academy Of Sciences in San Francisco. There were crazy drivers on the wet roads and the Museum was full of schoolchildren making noise, but I enjoyed it.

Red Tailed Hawk, March 2012 March 18th, 2012

This juvenile Red Tailed Hawk landed up in this palm tree, and was surveying the ground looking for breakfast.

Ducks By Pool, March 2012 March 18th, 2012

I saw a duck sleeping by our pool....but when I went out to scare it away, a female duck waddled out of our flower bed!

Half Moon Bay, March 2012 March 7th, 2012

For my birthday, we took a trip to Half Moon Bay and stayed at the Cypress Inn at Miramar Beach. The ocean was right outside our windows. We took some nice walks, ate some great food, and drank some nice wine. All-in-all, we had a fantastic little break from our normal lives.

Red Tailed Hawk, February 2012 February 26th, 2012

Cheryl took these pictures of a young Red Tailed Hawk in a tree in our backyard looking for breakfast. I hope it was successful - we have way too many gophers!

Mt Diablo Hike, February 2012 February 10th, 2012

I went for a relatively short hike on Mt Diablo. It was nice to get out and back into a natural/wild area.
