Here are my photos of National and California State Parks, the outdoors, and Cruise pictures. Pages 2 and 3 have flowers, animals, ships, other trips, and all sort of other photos.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I did when I was taking them. Obviously there are some things I am better at photographing - the great outdoors, flowers, ships.... Sadly I'm not so good at taking people pictures so there aren't as many of those. If you do enjoy any particular picture, you can leave a comment.
| This page took a long time to load, so I left the Cruises and National & State Parks picture sets here, and moved everything else to a second and third page. | Click on the Stars and Stripes to sail on to the other stuff!!! . |
I decided to try to put a small set (only 100 photographs) of my favorite pictures together and write about why I like these particular pictures. Sometimes it will be because of the photgraphic elements, sometimes, it is for personal meanings/reasons. It is still under construction (and always will be), but if you would like to check it out, here it is - My Favorite Photographs.

| May 12th, 2012 | Concord CERT graduated two new classes today so we served as guides on their final drill exercises. It was a good refresher for us, plus we got to pass on a bit of our knowledge, and it was neat to see how other people approached the drill scenarios. The training everyone got today was excellent! |

| May 11th, 2012 | The REACH Air Medical helicopter just landed at the school near us. An ambulance zoomed down the street to where it landed. A patient was moved to the helicopter and off it went! We found out later that a 5 year old girl stepped into the street and was hit by a truck that then sped away. How sad! |

| April 29th, 2012 | When we were up in Truckee for Cheryls Concert, we visited Lake Tahoe. As usual, it was gorgeous. |

| April 28th, 2012 | When we were up in Truckee (near Lake Tahoe), I saw some unique railroad pieces of rolling stock. I just had to stop and take some pictures. The rotary snow plow was unusual but somewhat common out here. But the wrecker was quite uncommon (at least nowadays). That was a real treat! This link is a pretty neat video of a snow plow in operation. |

| March 22th, 2012 | As I was leaving for work the other day, I glanced up to see a Grey Fox curled up in a nice cubbyhole on our roof. I can see why it picked that spot on the cold, windy, and almost raining night that we had last night. From our dining room window it was only a couple of feet away. |
|
| March 18th, 2012 | On this rainy day, we took a little trip in to the California Academy Of Sciences in San Francisco. There were crazy drivers on the wet roads and the Museum was full of schoolchildren making noise, but I enjoyed it. |

| March 18th, 2012 | This juvenile Red Tailed Hawk landed up in this palm tree, and was surveying the ground looking for breakfast. |
|
| March 18th, 2012 | I saw a duck sleeping by our pool....but when I went out to scare it away, a female duck waddled out of our flower bed! |
|
| March 7th, 2012 | For my birthday, we took a trip to Half Moon Bay and stayed at the Cypress Inn at Miramar Beach. The ocean was right outside our windows. We took some nice walks, ate some great food, and drank some nice wine. All-in-all, we had a fantastic little break from our normal lives. |

| February 26th, 2012 | Cheryl took these pictures of a young Red Tailed Hawk in a tree in our backyard looking for breakfast. I hope it was successful - we have way too many gophers! |
|
| February 10th, 2012 | I went for a relatively short hike on Mt Diablo. It was nice to get out and back into a natural/wild area. |
